The Parish Men’s Group meets on Friday 25th September at Clontarf Castle (The Norman Room) at 7.30am.

A full Irish Breakfast and Continental Spread will be served. Those at the last breakfast will testify to the quality of the food!

Our Speaker will be Reuben Coulter, Chief Executive of Tearfund Ireland.

After life-changing visits to Africa and South America, Reuben chose a career in development. He completed an MSc in Public Health in the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and then worked for Tearfund as a manager in the displaced people camps in Darfur and then helped rebuild communities in Liberia after the civil war.

On returning to Ireland, Reuben worked for GOAL as the operations manager for Sudan, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and also served as a board director of Tearfund Ireland. He is passionate about travel, spicy food and seeing transformation in the lives of the most vulnerable people, this job allows him to do all three. Reuben became Chief Executive of Tearfund Ireland in August 2008.

The Cost will be €15.00.

Please come along and enjoy the great fellowship, fun and food!

Jamie will be appointed once his work permit comes through, and is working with us as a volunteer in the meantime.

Jamie is from Indiana in the United States and has great experience of working with children, young people and adults. Jamie travelled to Ireland with his wife Katie who has been appointed Lecturer in Biblical Studies and Hermeneutics in the newly formed Church of Ireland Theological Institute.

Jamie and Katie have a new baby girl, Evelyn.

Jamie is very excited about starting work among us and undoubtedly you will all get to know him in the weeks and months ahead. Jamie’s work will be mainly with our young people though he will also spend some of his time in ministry with the wider Parish family.

I wish him well as he begins this ministry among us. His Service of Commissioning will take place on Sunday 13th September at 10.30am and all are encouraged to attend this important new step that we take together as a Parish Family. Derek
