About our Parish

Welcome to the Church of Ireland Parish of Clontarf. Our Parish Church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist and was built in 1866. It replaced the much earlier Church whose ruin is clearly visible in the graveyard at the top of Seafield Rd West, also dedicated to St. John the Baptist. (See where we are on Google maps.)

St. John The Baptish Church We are an Anglican Church, that is, we are part of the Anglican Communion worldwide. We are Catholic and Reformed though also we are part of the Irish Church inspired through the Christian witness of St. Patrick.

(If you’d like to read about the history of the Parish, take a look at our Wikipedia entry, created by John Patten.)

Our Rector is Revd. Derek C Sargent: Derek may be contacted at the Rectory, 15 Seafield Road West, Clontarf, Dublin 3, telephone 833 1181 or email at clontarfATdublin.anglican.org. [replace the AT with @]
