A great day for Clontarf Parish
The sun shone on Clontarf on Sunday 7th October as a large congregation of parishioners and friends gathered for the official opening of our new Parish Centre. The day began with a service of Holy Communion presided over by Archbishop Neill. Archbishop Neill’s first duty was to Bless the new West Door which already looks as though it was always there.

Our Choir and Organist excelled themselves and the Churchwardens made sure the service went smoothly.
After the Service the congregation, led by the Archbishop and the Rector made their way to the front of the Parish Centre.
Archbishop Neill then cut the ribbon and led the crowd into the Centre for speeches and refreshments.
.
Bruce Maxwell, Chair of the Property Committee, oultined the long history of the Parish Centre development, and paid tribute to all those who has contributed to the success of the venture. These included past and present members of the Committee; Michael Mohan, the centre architect, and the builders.
Following some words from the Rector and the Archbishop, a presentation was made to the Property Committee to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
All who have visited the Centre will agree that it is a wonderful achievement in which all involved can take great pride. You can see some more photographs from the day on our Flickr album.
