Once again this year, each household is invited to give a gift and hang a bauble on the Church’s Christmas Tree.
If you are presenting a present (e.g. toys, socks, tracksuits, tee-shirts, dolls, crayons and drawing paper) hang a red bauble. All the presents are going to a project in Lesotho, where our Youth Pastor Susan worked earlier in the year.
If you would prefer to give a money gift, hang a gold bauble. All money presented will go to Present Aid.
There will be a presentation of gifts during our All-Age Worship with the Sunday Club (and band!) on 16th December.

On All Saints’ Sunday, 4th November, the day on which we give thanks and prayerfully remember those we love but see no longer, we planted a tree in memory of our dear friend Sam Jackson. The tree was planted in the Church grounds which Sam spent so many hours keeping so well.
A Cheese and wine evening takes place on Friday 23rd November in the Parish Centre. The fun starts at 7pm and all Parishioners are invited to come along and bring a friend.
The sun shone on Clontarf on Sunday 7th October as a large congregation of parishioners and friends gathered for the official opening of our new Parish Centre. The day began with a service of Holy Communion presided over by Archbishop Neill. Archbishop Neill’s first duty was to Bless the new West Door which already looks as though it was always there.

Our Choir and Organist excelled themselves and the Churchwardens made sure the service went smoothly.
After the Service the congregation, led by the Archbishop and the Rector made their way to the front of the Parish Centre.
Archbishop Neill then cut the ribbon and led the crowd into the Centre for speeches and refreshments.
.
Bruce Maxwell, Chair of the Property Committee, oultined the long history of the Parish Centre development, and paid tribute to all those who has contributed to the success of the venture. These included past and present members of the Committee; Michael Mohan, the centre architect, and the builders.
Following some words from the Rector and the Archbishop, a presentation was made to the Property Committee to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
All who have visited the Centre will agree that it is a wonderful achievement in which all involved can take great pride. You can see some more photographs from the day on our Flickr album.
A Message from The Rector
On Sunday 7th October 2007 we will celebrate the official opening of our new Parish Centre beside the Church. This is a very important milestone in the life of our Parish Family, which is a result of much hard work, prayer and dedication by many people over a long period of time, but in particular over the last two years.
The Parish Centre Calendar is now online.
All parishioners are warmly invited to be part of this great day of celebration and thanksgiving. The day will begin at 10.30am with a Service of Holy Communion, presided over by the Archbishop of Dublin, The Most Reverend Dr John R W Neill, followed by the Blessing of the new Centre, the cutting of the tape, speeches and refreshments.
If you would like to be part of the day but have no transport, please contact me.
I sincerely hope that you will be able to attend, and I look forward to seeing you there.
Yours in Christ,
Derek C Sargent
Rector
The parish Fashion Show on 1st October was a great success. The tickets sold out a week in advance and an enthusiastic crowd packed out Clontarf Castle.
Congratulations are due to the team, led by John Patten, who put such hard work into the event. Thanks go to all those who contributed to the event in any way.
All the proceeds from the event will go towards the Parish’s Children’s and Youth Services.
